Characteristics of Science

"Science is work in progress. All ideas are open to scrutiny. Science conclusions are tentative. Science is a process and nothing scientific requires belief. Scientific conclusions are founded in factual content and thinking. In science tentative ideas refer to willingness of scientists to modify ideas as new evidence is presented. Scientific ideas are scrutinized from near and far, yet no

one ever takes a vote. Scientists make moral and aesthetic judgment and choices, but these decisions are not part of science. Scientific ideas are logical conclusions based on visual facts. Much of what we know is based on data. Evidence is used to evaluate scientific explanations. It may come from various sources such as an experiment, recordings from outerspace or study of anatomy, just to name a few.Most scientific thinking involves continuous observations, questions, hypotheses and more observations. It seldom ""concludes"" and never ""proves.""Theories are explanations that allow scientists to make valid predictions."
