Charges for Filing a False Police Report

It is illegal to file a false police report. Charges can be brought against you and you can be arrested. Under circumstances like this you would need to have an attorney to represent you in court. I don't believe all city,county or state law enforcement would vigorously persue such a case. It all depends on the circumstances that brought about the false charges.
