Child Abandonment Laws

without supervision. Including the condition of the location the child was left at and if it was night or day when the child was left unsupervised. Also, the weather condition and if the child had shelter from these conditions, the physical distance from the parents and the child. If the child was given a phone for an emergency and if the child was capable of making a call or if food was left for the child along with other provisions. Child abandonment is a class four felony and if this a second or third time it becomes a third class felony.
