Waukegan Police Arrest Suspect, Seek Second Offender In Attempted Armed Robbery

Police have arrested one man and issued a warrant for a second after an attempted robbery Tuesday at a convenience store in north suburban Waukegan in which a female clerk was beaten with a gun.

Officers responded to Sun Foods in the 1500 block of Sunset Avenue about 2:30 p.m. and found a clerk had been struck multiple times with a handgun during a robbery attempt.

Police released a video of the incident which shows one of the suspects pointing a gun at the woman, then going behind the counter and hitting her in the head multiple times with the gun.
