A Cook County Sheriff Deputy was hospitalized after being attacked by a 'High Risk' inmate at 26th and California today.. The Deputy transporting the inmate by himself, sustained a serious head injury and numerous stiches when the unrestrained inmate attacked him. Chief James Banks responded to the scene and reportedly said he did not care how the deputy was and wanted to know if the inmate was ok according to multiple sources. Chief Banks is the hand pick promotion of Ed Avant and Dana Wright. He has in excess of 14 harassment accusations filed against him according to documents obtained by a federal lawsuit last year.
