Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart: When I was a young Irish lad, the neighborhood kids would shoot bottle rockets and roman candles at me. One rather large husky boy even shove a hot sparkler up my ass, well I think it was a sparkler....
Now I am bent on ruining the 4th of July for EVERYBODY by going after those roadside stands selling small little fireworks for the Forth of July!
While murders and violent crime is soaring in Chicago, Tom Dart cracks down on illegal fireworks he calls “a mass detonation hazard.”
Chicagoan Caught Selling Illegal Fireworks, Including ‘Threat To Society’ Brand: Sheriff
Vincent Saraceno, 36, was arrested Thursday morning after deputies found him selling the fireworks from a tent in a parking lot in the 900 block of West North Avenue in Melrose Park, according to the Cook County sheriff’s department.
The sheriff’s office called the fireworks seized “a mass detonation hazard.”
“If one inadvertently detonates, the explosion detonates the others. These types of fireworks should only be handled by licensed professionals,” the department said in a statement.
