So yesterday we all spent quite a lot of time discussing that Washington Post article about how Sarah Palin was instrumental in creating the lunacy that we see in today's Republican party.
There were a lot of articles written in response to that post, both in agreement and some not in agreement, however leave it to Breitbart to twist the whole narrative to fit the world as they want it to be:
The timing of the attack might seem odd. Palin is not running for office, nor does she hold office. The news “hook” is a comment by Republican frontrunner Donald Trump to the effect that Palin is “a special person” that he might appoint to his Cabinet.
Actually, Trump could do far worse. Palin has a strong grasp of the delicate balance between fossil fuel development and environmental stewardship. She would be a good choice for Secretary of the Interior.
But Daley is not really concerned about the next Republican administration. His aim is to attack the Republican grassroots as a way of knocking Trump, Dr. Ben Carson, and others.
At a time when Democrats are seriously debating whether socialism or capitalism is a better economic system, and Hillary Clinton is kowtowing to the left on every issue from the Keystone pipeline to free trade, Bill Daley claims the conservative base is out of touch with reality.
To borrow a well-worn, but appropriate cliché: Daley is entitled to his own opinion, but not to his own facts.
Speaking of their "own facts" the article then goes on to claim that Palin was a natural choice for John McCain to choose and that she had the potential to attract the women voters supposedly disenfranchised by Obama, completely disregarding the fact that she failed to do so.
Breitbart also credits Palin with helping to elect "dozens of successful candidates" that they claim damaged Obama's agenda.
Is THAT what happened?
So all day yesterday I kept checking to see just when Palin would respond to the Washington Post piece, assuming that it would be a potpourri of venomous word salad, but it was nothing but crickets over on her last remaining media platform.
But then late last night Palin finally spoke up. Only she completely ignored the actual article, and instead accepted the twisted logic of the Breitbart piece.
This was her response:
The Left's failed agenda is my fault? Well maybe that's a fine birthday gift for Mom today! Happy birthday, Mom! (Yesterday was also Sally Heath's birthday.)
So apparently that was Palin's only response to an article, about an article, that received quite a lot of media attention yesterday, and started a rather interesting debate on just when the Republican party started to derail.
Well that was.....anti-climatic.
Apparently her favorite ghostwriter is too busy over on the blog her daughter never reads padding the Trig mythology to bother writing up anything to support her employer on Facebook.
Oh well, I guess when you only have so much money to work with.......
Breitbart took that article accusing Sarah Palin of damaging the Republican party, twisted it into her damaging the "Left's agenda, and now Palin has happily taken credit for it.
