Sen. Ted Cruz, candidate for the highest office in the land, thinks that climate change — a phenomenon widely accepted by the scientists who study it — is a religious belief.
“Climate change is not science. It’s religion,” Cruz told Glenn Beck on Thursday.
To back up his claim, Cruz pointed to the way we talk about climate change.
“Look at the language, where they call you a denier,” he said. “Denier is not the language of science … Any good scientist is a skeptic; if he’s not, he or she should not be a scientist. But yet the language of the global warming alarmists, ‘denier’ is the language of religion, it’s heretic, you are a blasphemer.”
Gosh I love getting a lecture on science from such a burgeoning (Cough, cough) intellect as Ted Cruz.
As you can hear part of Cruz's argument against climate change being science is the comical claim that his parents are both scientists.
Some of you may remember that Ted's dad, Rafael Bienvenido Cruz, is a man who believes the story of Genesis is literally true, that Obama is a secret Muslim, and that LGBT activists are trying to legalize pedophilia.
Clearly Cruz is clearly pandering to the oil companies by making these remarks, perhaps missing the fact that at least one of them knew that burning fossil fuels was leading to climate change as far back as 1981.
Just another reason, as if people needed another one, NOT to support Ted Cruz in this nomination process.
P.S. BTW the Washington Post refuted that crap about the satellite data back in March.
Ted Cruz claims that "Climate change is not science. It's religion."
