Not only did Ted Cruz fail to repudiate Kevin “Kill the Gays in Public” Swanson and back out from the Evangelical leader’s hatefest this weekend, the self-described “religious liberty” advocate used it as an opportunity to reject the premise of religious liberty entirely.
During a question and answer session with Swanson, Cruz answered literally the first question he was asked by declaring that atheist cannot be president.
Said Cruz, when asked if religion was an important quality for a Commander-in-Chief, “Any president who doesn’t begin every day on his knees isn’t fit to be commander-in-chief of this nation.”
Yes because nothing says that you are fit to make the incredibly complex and potentially world altering decisions of America's commander-in-chief like paying homage to an invisible sky daddy every morning before you take your first poop.
You know it seems to me that the LAST super duper religious president we had claimed that God told him to unnecessarily attack two different countries.
How did THAT work out for us?
No we desperately need a leader who would NEVER bend his knee to any god, angel, fairy, leprechaun, or unicorn. And would instead make decisions based on critical thinking and recognition of the facts.
And personally I would not trust Ted Cruz to water my plants, much less lead this nation.
P.S. By the way that Kevin Swanson lunatic also railed against country music, Harry Potter, and even the children's cartoon "How to Train Your Dragon."
And the fact that Ted Cruz saw nothing wrong with sharing a stage with him, suggests that he needs to spend less time on his knees and more time vetting his friends.
Ted Cruz: "Any president who doesn’t begin every day on his knees isn’t fit to be commander-in-chief of this nation."
