Hmm, interesting. That was enough to get the Ted Cruz campaign to blow a gasket:
A spokesman for Sen. Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign said Tuesday it would be a “blow” to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin if she endorsed businessman Donald Trump for president.
“I think it [would] be a blow to Sarah Palin, because Sarah Palin has been a champion for the conservative cause, and if she was going to endorse Donald Trump, sadly, she would be endorsing someone who’s held progressive views all their life on the sanctity of life, on marriage, on partial-birth abortion,” Cruz campaign spokesman Rick Tyler said on CNN’s “New Day.”
Gee, somebody's certainly worried.
And why not? Ted Cruz and Donald Trump are both courting the same lunatic fringe that Sarah Palin lured out of the far right wilderness with her sexy school librarian looks and penchant for spouting insane sound bites.
Personally I think that it would be a brilliant move on Trump's part because he is one of the very few candidates immune to the Palin curse. But also because it would essentially cement his relationship with the racists, teabaggers, and religious fundamentalists.
And gee, who doesn't want THEM on your side?
As for Sarah Palin? Well hell her whole life is blowing up around her, what more could she possibly lose?
Besides if Trump actually offered her a job, or made her one of his surrogates, she could get the hell out of Wasilla for awhile, or perhaps permanently, and we all know how desperate she is for that to happen!
All I know for sure is if Trump announces that Sarah Palin is his running mate, this whole thing will get infinitely more interesting, and I will suffer the most powerful deja vu of my entire life.
