Bernie Sanders got props for his comments about guns during the debate—but probably not from the group he would like.
The National Rifle Association tweeted Monday praising Sanders’ comments on guns during Sunday night’s Democratic debate.
“Sen. Sanders was spot-on in his comments about gun manufacturer liability/PLCAA,” the NRA tweeted with a graphic of the Vermont senator’s quote that reads: “What you’re really talking about is ending gun manufacturing in America. I don’t agree with that.”
Somebody needs to tell Sanders that if you are running for the nomination to be the Democratic candidate for president in 2016, that the very LAST group you want agreeing with you is the fucking NRA.
Do you know who DOES understand that?
Hillary Clinton and her campaign.
Yep you guessed it, Ian Sams is indeed a Clinton staffer.Let's be clear: Republican super PACs, Karl Rove, the RNC and now the NRA (!) are coming to @BernieSanders' side. https://t.co/7foeviXwfh— Ian Sams (@IanSams) March 7, 2016
