For men were killed and at least 16 other people were wounded in Chicago shootings since Saturday morning, officials said.
The most recent fatal shooting was at 2:35 a.m. Sunday in the Brighton Park neighborhood, where a 19-year-old man was shot while driving in the 3900 block of South Campbell Avenue. He was driving north when someone driving the other way opened fire, shooting him multiple times. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead.
Police said the shooting may be related to a nearby attack that occurred at the same time about a block away, in the 3900 block of South Rockwell Street. Someone in a passing gray Ford Explorer shot a 21-year-old man in the right hand. The man went to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.
At 11:25 p.m. Saturday, a 36-year-old man was killed in the Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side. He was in the driver's seat of a car in the 11200 block of South Langley Avenue when another vehicle pulled up alongside him and someone inside opened fire. The man tried to drive away but crashed into several other parked vehicles. He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
About 5:20 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in the 8900 block of South Justine Street in the Brainerd neighborhood. He was standing in front of a home when two people approached on foot and began firing. The man was shot multiple times in the torso and taken to the Little Company of Mary Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
He was identified as Nahmar T. Holmes, of the same block where he was killed, said the Cook County medical examiner's office.
An earlier fatal attack happened about 2 p.m. in the 3000 block of West 63rd Street in Chicago Lawn. Two men, 27 and 26, were sitting in a parked vehicle when a group of people approached and opened fire, police said.
The 27-year-old was shot in the head and the torso, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Dominice Hallom, of the 11300 block of South Forest Avenue, the medical examiner's office said.
The other man was shot in the left leg, left arm, torso and buttocks. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, and his condition was stabilized.
Other shootings:
Early Sunday, a 25-year-old man who passed out after drinking woke up near Hoyne and Charleston avenues in Bucktown. About 4:30 a.m. he walked to his home in the 2200 block of West Fullerton Avenue and got in the shower, where he realized he had been shot in the chest. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition.
About 4 a.m., a 29-year-old woman walking in the 3600 block of South Honore looked down and saw blood on her right shoe. She realized she had been shot in the foot and went to St. Anthony Hospital for treatment. She said she had not heard any gunshots, and did not know how the shooting may have occurred, police sources said.
At 3:40 a.m., someone fired a shot through the floor of a West Englewood house into the basement, where the bullet hit a sleeping 15-year-old boy in the leg, police said. The boy was taken from the house, in the 6000 block of South Wood Street, to Comer Children's Hospital. He was listed in good condition.
At 3:30 a.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in West Garfield Park. He was standing in the first block of North Pulaski Road when he was shot in the leg. He went to Mount Sinai Hospital and his condition was stabilized.
At 1:45 a.m., a 26-year-old man was shot in Lawndale. He got himself to Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right leg after being shot in the 1600 block of South Kedzie Avenue. He was being uncooperative with the investigation, and police said his injuries may have been self-inflicted.
At 8:40 p.m. Saturday, a 31-year-old man was shot in Englewood. He was in the 5700 block of South Seeley Avenue when someone wearing all black fired shots, hitting him in the foot. The man went to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition.
About 20 minutes earlier, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg in South Austin. Three males approached him and fired shots as he walked in the 5500 block of West Ohio Street. He was taken in good condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
About 8:05 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in the Homan Square neighborhood. He was in the 3400 block of West Harrison Street when someone shot him in the abdomen and forearm. He went to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.
At 7 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in the Marynook neighborhood. He was standing on the 8300 block of South Kenwood Avenue when a black sedan drove past and an unknown occupant fired shots, police said. The victim was shot in the left arm and went to to Jackson Park Hospital in good condition.
At 6:50 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in the 1900 block of West Garfield Boulevard. He was riding his bike in an alley when he heard shots and felt pain, police said. He was shot in the buttocks and taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
About 6:30 p.m., a 17-year-old boy was shot in the Roseland neighborhood. The victim was standing on the 10900 block of South Eberhart Avenue in front of a home when a gray sedan drove past and fired shots, police said. The boy was shot in the back and right hand and transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized.
About 6 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in the Lawndale neighborhood. He was on the sidewalk in the 4000 block of West 21st Place as someone came out from an alley and fired shots, striking the man in the right foot. He later went to St. Anthony Hospital and his condition was stabilized.
About 5 p.m. a 35-year-old man was shot multiple times in the 4700 bock of South Shields Avenue. He was arguing with someone who then shot him in the side and back, police said. He got himself to Provident Hospital of Cook County before being transferred to Stroger Hospital, police said. His condition was stabilized.
Late Saturday morning, a 26-year-old man was shot in the city's Humboldt Park neighborhood. That shooting happened about 11:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Keystone Avenue. The man was shot in the knee and taken to Norwegian American Hospital.
