Police are reviewing security video as they try to figure out who beat and robbed a man of thousands of dollars outside Rivers Casino in Des Plaines.
Police said the victim reported that he met the man while gambling in the casino on Saturday night and that they dinner and played poker together before leaving at around 1:50 a.m. Sunday. When the men reached the victim's vehicle in the parking lot, the suspect assaulted the victim and took $7,000 in cash from his pocket, authorities said.
The suspect is seen on security video running through the parking lot and up to a parking garage, where he got into a black pickup truck and drove off, police said. They described the male black as about 6 feet tall and 215 pounds with short brown hair, wearing blue jeans and a white shirt that both bore a tool company logo.
Police advised casino customers to be careful with their cash.
