Two suspects were caught on security cameras in footage released to the public Thursday in hopes that someone will recognize the pair believed to be involved in at least eight smash and grab burglaries.
According to the LAPD, there has been an increase in commercial burglaries along Ventura Boulevard in Studio City so far this month and in August.
“The suspects target businesses, smash storefront windows and remove cash registers,” detectives said in a written statement.
Authorities are recommending that business owners take measures to protect themselves by installing audible alarm systems that cover glass breakage, leaving cash registers empty and open, installing a video camera system that covers both the interior and exterior of the business, and illuminating the exterior as well as the interior of the businesses during the night.”
Anyone with information about the suspects can call the LAPD's North Hollywood Division Burglary Detective Noah Stone at (818) 754-8377 or the LAPD's 24-hour tipline at (877) LAPD-24-7 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
