One of numerous robbers of a Carpentersville IL computer store shot dead by store employee

A suspect died after shots were fired following a robbery in Carpentersville Wednesday, according to a release from the Carpentersville Police Department.

According to police, multiple suspects robbed a computer store in the 1600 block of Ravine Lane at about 7:30 p.m. As the suspects were fleeing the store, shots were fired, striking one of the suspects, police said. The other suspects were able to flee the scene, police said.

The injured suspect was taken to a local hospital where he later was pronounced dead, police said.

The victims of the robbery did not sustain any significant injuries, police said.
