Two Pritzkers were to be on hand: Penny Pritzker, the commerce secretary, and Matthew Pritzker, CEO of a Chicago firm that carries his name. Other guests included Obama friend Cindy Moelis, president of the Pritzker Traubert Family Foundation, and her husband, Robert Rivkin.

A billionaire venture capitalist from California, John Doerr III, and his wife Ann, were invited. They gave a gift in the range of $500,000 to $1 million to the foundation. Also invited were John Shulman, managing director of Juggernaut Capital Partners, and Alison Shulman, who donated a gift reported in the range of $200 to $100,000.
Another guest, New York investor Tim Collins, CEO of Ripplewood Holdings, gave between $250,000 and $500,000 to the Obama Foundation.
