CHICAGO HOMICIDE TOTALS IS ALREADY 200 MORE THAN LAST YEAR
Six people were killed and 31 others were wounded in shootings in Chicago over the weekend as the number of homicides this year climbed to nearly 200 above the same period last year, according to police and data compiled by the Tribune.
Six people were shot in just one hour Sunday, between 4 and 5 a.m. — an average of a person shot every 10 minutes.
The hour ended with the city’s most recent homicide. At 5 a.m. Sunday, 29-year-old Jason Balboa was found with several gunshot wounds near 28th Street and Pulaski Road in Little Village. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead a few hours later.
