The 29-year-old Chicago teacher accused of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student was ordered to be held on $100,000 bail, a judge ruled Saturday.
June Kendall, of the 4900 block of North St. Louis Avenue, faces two counts of criminal sexual assault with a person between 13 to 17 years old, according to a news release from the Chicago Police Department.
A student told officials that on more than one occasion, Kendall engaged in inappropriate sexual acts with the student, according to the release.
The incidents happened at the school where Kendall worked, which is located in the 1300 block of West 14th Place. According to Kendall's personal website, she works as a science teacher at Urban Prep Academy.
In court Saturday afternoon, Judge Laura Sullivan ordered Kendall held on $100,000 bond. Prosecutors said the case involved two 17-year-old Urban Prep students the teacher befriended on the Snapchat app.
Kendall is scheduled to return to court next week.
