Time: 11: 45 a.m.Chicago, IL- After Sunday nights Chicago Cubs loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS we might have to consider bringing the goat to the "Friendly confines"to end the curse. The Steve Bartman incident is one of the fifteen worst things that happened in Chicago Cubs history. The Steve Bartman incident occurred during a Major League Baseball postseason game played between the Chicago Cubs and The Florida Marlins on October 14, 2003, at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois. In the eighth inning of Game 6 National League Championship Series (NLCS), with Chicago ahead 3–0 and holding a 3 games to 2 lead in the best of series, several spectators attempted to catch a foul ball off the bat of Florida second baseman Luis Castillo. One of the fans – Steve Bartman – reached for the ball, deflecting it and disrupting a potential catch by Cubs outfielder Moises Alou. If Alou had caught the ball, it would have been the second out in the inning, and the Cubs would have been just four outs away from winning their first National league pennant since 1945. Instead, the Cubs ended up surrendering eight runs in the inning and shortly afterward lost the game, 8–3. When they were eliminated in the seventh game the next day, the "Steve Bartman incident" was seen as the "first domino" in the turning point of the series.
In 1945 Billy goat tavern owner, Billy Sianis bought a ticket for his goat on game 4 of the World Series and was told to take his goat and leave the stadium because of complaining fans. Billy Sianis told the Chicago Cubs they would never win and to this day they haven't. I think the Chicago Cubs should allow a goat to sit in one of the seats to maybe end the curse especially now with a Cubs loss and the series shifting to Los Angeles. On Monday, community activist Raul Montes, Jr. and Chicago Cubs fans will admonish fans about not interfering with foul bells and to consider bringing a goat to Wrigley Field to avoid another Chicago Cubs debacle.
Raul Montes, Jr. is tired of other men grabbing his foul balls.... After Sunday nights Chicago Cubs loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS we might have to consider bringing the goat to the "Friendly confines"to end the curse.
