NEW ORLEANS – A police officer was shot and killed while driving a prisoner to Orleans Parish Prison Saturday morning, leading to a sprawling manhunt for the suspect and answers to the question about how the incident happened.
Police Superintendent Michael Harrison identified the suspect as 33-year-old Travis Boys, who was arrested hours earlier on suspicion of aggravated assault. The officer was identified as Daryle Holloway, a 22-year veteran of the department, Harrison said.
