A colored man with a checkered past has been charged with shooting another man Saturday night in Streeterville, less than an hour after the Fourth of July fireworks display at Navy Pier, has been ordered held without bond.
Marquell D. Barnes, 20, faces one count of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and use of a stolen firearm to commit an offense, all felonies, according to a statement from Chicago Police. He was also charged with one misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
