A 17-year-old Evanston girl who'd been missing since Oct. 4 was found Monday evening in Midlothian, police said.
The Midlothian Police Department located Alishianna A. Harris in good health after a concerned citizen contacted them, Evanston police said in a statement Monday night.
Earlier Monday, Evanston police said Harris probably left her home on her own.
Evanston Police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said Harris had left home before, but that this time she had not called to let anyone know she was OK. Police had said that Harris had no money, credit cards or a cellphone, though was familiar with public transportation, and particularly with the Chicago Transit Authority "L" system. Dugan said police had talked to Harris' friends and family before turning to the public for help.
