Nicholas Nowicki, 34, was initially charged with sexual assault following his arrest last year, when authorities alleged he acted despite "knowing (she) was intoxicated and unable to give knowing consent."
Prosecutors have said that the victim woke up to find Nowicki on top of her and that he punched her when she tried to fight him off.
Prosecutors said the victim and her family have agreed to the sentence.
Nowicki, who now lives in Cook County, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
He must pay $500 in fines and court costs and also was sentenced to 365 days in jail, which he already served while awaiting trial. He was ordered not to have any contact with the victim or her family.
