A man was shot early Wednesday while driving onto the Bishop Ford Freeway on the South Side.
The 22-year-old was driving south from Stony Island Avenue and entering the southbound lanes of I-94 when shots rang out and he was struck in the right forearm, according to Illinois State Police.
His vehicle came to rest about 1:35 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway near 111th Street, Castillo said. The man was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening. No other injuries were reported.
The ramp from Stony Island to southbound I-94 was closed to traffic while Illinois State Police investigated the shooting, but everything was reopened by 3:30 a.m.
