PALOS HILLS, IL — Palos Hills police on Wednesday arrested a teen believed to be responsible for a sexual assault that took place in September.
Police made the arrest after a search of a Palos Hills home turned up a purse and wallet belonging to the victim of the Sept. 9 attack, police said in a release Thursday.
The victim told police that night that she was returning from work to her home near the 8500 block of West 103rd Street when she was confronted by a black male as she was exiting her car. He flashed a handgun and instructed her to drive to 99th Street and 84th Avenue, where he then sexually assaulted her. At the time, police described the suspect as a black male, 5-foot-6, between 16–19 years old and 120 pounds and wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans.
The juvenile was charged as an adult Wednesday with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated criminal sexual assault and armed robbery. He was transported to the Cook County 5th District Bridgeview Courthouse for a bond hearing.
Palos Hills police said Thursday that additional charges are pending on other cases, pursuant to this arrest, pending results for supplemental subpoenas and lab findings.
